Wang Yidong 王沂东 was born in China, in the Yimeng mountains region,

Shandong Province. |

He graduated from the Shandong School of Art. |

He continued his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.

|
1982

After graduating from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, ( Oil painting

department ) he began to teach.
|
| |
|
|
1984
|
He won the Golden Prize at the 6th Art exhibition of the National Gallery, Beijing.
|
| |
|
|
1987
|
He exhibited at the Hafner Gallery, in New York United States.
|
|
|
He stayed one year in the United States.
|
| |
|
| |
Returning to China, he created a new style combining traditional culture |
| |
of the mountains of his childhood with western techniques. |
| |
|
|
1990
|
He took part to numerous exhibitions in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan,
|
| |
and to numerous international Art Fairs : Chicago, Dallas, Brussels ( 1996 ),
|
| |
Berlin (1998 ).

|
2005
|
With Chen Yifei, Ai Xuan, Yang Feyuan, Yang Yunfei, he formed the Beijing realism group.
|
| |
They hold their first exhibition at the National Art Museum of China.
|
|
|
|
|
2006
|
The group was renamed : Chinese Realism.
|
|
|
|
| |
His work The Old Village is part of the collection of the China National Art Gallery.
