1956

Wang Huangsheng  王璜生 was born in Jieyang, Guangdong ¨Province, in China..

At the end of the Cultural Revolution, he returned to Beijing and met the poet Bei Dao.

He studied at the Nanjing Art Institute.

1990

He graduated with a Master's Degree in Art History.

As Art critic, he wrote numerous articles for national and international reviews.

1995

He published a monograph on the History of Art :

Chen Hongshou, Chinese Master Painters in Ming and Qing Dynasties

He was also the chief-editor of Art Museum periodical : Art Museum Magazine.

The Eighth National Art Exhibition Beijing ( 1994 ) 

The Ninth National Art Exhibition Beijing ( 1999 )

The13th Asia International Art Show Kuala Lumpur ( 2003 )  

and The 11th National Art Exhibition Beijing ( 2009 )

As Director of Museum, he promoted large-scale by founding The Guangzhou Triennial

and the Guangzhou Photo Biennial.

He was awarded the Knight Medal of Art and Literature by the French government ( 2004 )

and the Chivalry Honor by the Italian president, for his contribution to the Arts.( 2006 ).

2006

He received his Doctorate.

2009

Professor and Doctoral Advisor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, in Beijing, he was

elected Director of CAFA Art Museum from July.
