Zeng Nian 曾年 was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province China.
|

|
His father was a professor of painting at the Fine Arts Institute of Nanjing,
|
|
|
and his mother was Pharmacist. |

|
|
|
He learned about photography, during the Cultural Revolution.
|
| |
|
|
1971
|
Assigned as a sailor at the port of Nanjing, he made the photo-diary of his unit.
|
|
|
|
|
1979/1983
|
He travelled by bicycle in Hangzhou, Shanghai and Tibet for six months.
|
| |
Back in Nanjing, he showed his photos : Voyages to the West, in several exhibitions. |
|
|
|
|
1983
|
He settled in Beijing.
|
| |
|
|
1984
|
He married a French woman, living in Beijing.
|
|
|
He published photographs in foreign magazines : The Sunday Morning Post Hong Kong,
|
| |
El Pais Spain, Photographies Magazine, Photos Reporters, V.S.D. France. |
| |

1990
|
The couple moved to France, and settled in Cachan, Paris region.
|
|

He joined the Paris-based photo agency : Contact Press Images then Gamma (2000 )
