Yue Minjun  岳敏君 was born in Daqing, Heilongjiang province, in the Northeast of China..

   

1968

The family moved to Beijing.

   

1985

He studied at the Hebei Normal University ( oil painting department )

   

1992

With Liu Wei and Fang Lijun, he was part of the key movement of the post 1989 era,

 

The Cynical Realism.

   

1995

From the Chaoyang district of Beijing, he moved to the artists' village : Songzuang

 

 

1999

He participated in the Venice Biennial.

   

2007

He exhibited at the Queens Museum in New York.

   

2012/2013

First major exhibition in Europe with L'ombre du sourire, at the Cartier Foundation,,

 

Paris - extended until 24.03.

   
 

He lives and works in Beijing  China.
